Who we are looking for - Building Control Officer Inspections
We're looking for either an experienced Senior Building Control Officer or a Building Control Officer to join our building consent inspections team.
Working within a team of highly-skilled professionals, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the community.
You'll use your knowledge and experience to engage with customers and provide consistent and high quality technical advice on all aspects of the building consent process and Building Act 2004.
This is an exciting time for the Council with major growth happening including town centre developments, major packhouse facilities, retirement villages and care homes, apartment buildings and high end architectural beach front houses.
Our District is changing and this role is to help make the change happen.
You will have • Proven experience in Building Control • Adaptability to a constantly changing work environment • Sound judgement that demonstrates fair and just outcomes • Sound computer skills • A current driver's licence • NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
Qualifications • A qualification recognised under the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006 • An established competency assessed under the National Competency Assessment System • A thorough knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Building Act 2004
