The Building Officials of New Zealand is seeking an experienced Accreditation and Technical Manager to join its National Office team. This Wellington-based role offers the opportunity to lead the Accredited Building Surveyors programme and provide technical direction across BOINZ's work to support professional standards, sector capability, and regulatory excellence.
The successful candidate will manage and improve the Accredited Building Surveyors programme, including applications, renewals, audit moderation, training delivery, policies, assessors, facilitators, CRM information and process improvements. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role will also provide technical guidance on building legislation, regulatory change, training content, submissions, member communications, sector engagement, events and new programme opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, promoting and improving the Accredited Building Surveyors programme.
- Providing expert technical guidance on building legislation, compliance pathways and regulatory change.
- Supporting technical training delivery, assessment, moderation, policies and programme processes.
- Working with councils, government agencies, technical specialists, members and sector stakeholders.
- Contributing to submissions, communications, events and new professional development opportunities.
This role is ideal for an experienced building surveying professional with a recognised qualification, or equivalent relevant experience and at least 10+ years' experience across the building, design, inspection, regulatory, or building control sectors. Strong technical judgement, clear communication skills and the ability to work confidently with senior leaders and stakeholders are essential.
