Cadet Building Control Officer

We are currently looking for a hard-working, team player to join our busy team of 18 in our experienced and hardworking Building team.

At the end of this two-year cadetship, you will graduate into a permanent full-time position as a Building Control Officer.

As a Cadet Building Control Officer, you will learn how to:

• Conduct building inspections
• Process building consent applications
• Issue project information memoranda's
• Apply relevant legislation to ensure compliance of buildings and structures
• Investigate complaints
• Prepare for and attend court as an expert witness

This role would suit a trade qualified or tertiary qualified person within the building sector who is looking for that first step into a regulatory role.

The ability to read/decipher plans and specifications is a requirement of this position along with a high level of both computer skills and customer service skills.
