Solutions Team is an overflow resource supplier to many BCA’s and TA's throughout New Zealand. 

We process in excess of 8500 Building Consents per year, carry out Building Inspections and support Building Officials with Technical Auditing and Competency Assessments.

We are looking for current, qualified Building Officials to undertake a variety of interesting work with ongoing professional and personal development opportunities, employment opportunities include:

  • Building Consent Officers 
  • Building Inspectors 
  • Quality Assurance Team Members 

We offer the ability to work remotely from home, or in one of our offices throughout New Zealand, these include, Christchurch (HQ), Wellington, Auckland, Timaru.

You will be working with a team of highly skilled and well-respected Building Officials.

You will have:

  • Fantastic communication skills
  • Willing to go the extra mile for customers
  • Advanced current working knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and Building Act.
  • NZ tertiary qualification in architecture/drafting or building construction
  • Current experience processing or inspecting residential or commercial projects for compliance with consent and code requirements.
  • Good computer knowledge as we process plans electronically and/or use mobile technology for inspections.

Building Consent Officers/Inspectors: 

The preferred candidate will be a team player, with a high degree of technical knowledge and ideally an experienced dual competent Building Official at Senior level with a minimum competency of Commercial C1 and experience in assessing applications or relevant experience in a similar role.

You will have good process orientation with an ability to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to promote continued business improvement. Computer literacy skills will be visible through the production of reports, monitoring and reviewing of statistical information, and research of applications.

Quality Assurance Team Members: 

The preferred candidate will be a well-respected and knowledgeable Senior level staff member with a focus and passion for BCA Accreditation. The role would require expert level knowledge of BCA regulations to be a lead and a driving force in the industry. A high level of engagement and collaborative working relationship with MBIE and IANZ is required. The role can allow for a variety of functions to be integrated within it including quality Assurance as well as technical functions. The ability to have flexibility in dealing with the different requirements of our customers is essential as is a personable approach.
