Due to growth in the region, we are seeking a Senior Building Officer to join our Building team at the Hurunui District Council.
If successful, you will be joining a high performing Building Consent Authority and will be responsible for inspecting and consenting building work across all building categories, we also have a high focus on striving to improve our customer's experience with our services.
Hurunui is one of the largest regions in New Zealand and has a diverse environment which provides a great place to work and live from the Hot Pools and mountains in Hanmer Springs to the beaches of Gore Bay to our biggest township of Amberley, the Hurunui has it all.
If you are a building officer working at a senior level or you are looking to grow into this level, we can create opportunities for you to develop and expand your skills in a new environment. You will be expected to mentor other team members, inspect and approve a range of projects and make sound and robust technical decisions relating to all building activities.
You must possess a relevant Reg 18 qualification and be committed and driven. For a Senior Building Officer you will have a minimum of 8 years Building Officer experience and are seeking that next step in your career. You will be well organised and decisive, an exceptional communicator and driven to pursue quality outcomes.
