Invercargill City Council are looking to expand their busy Building Control Team with the addition of an experienced Senior Building Control Officer or experienced Building Control Officer looking to progress to this role. It is an exciting time for us as our region is experiencing high growth which offers an array of opportunities for motivated and experienced senior building control professionals or those looking to take the next step up.
We are looking for someone who technically has achieved up to Residential 2 and Commercial 2 competency while proving a high level of customer service. You would also be able to undertake a full range of building consent functions to support the team.
This exciting role involves responsibility for advising and assisting clients on building consent matters and being available to assist your team through your experience and knowledge, and be involved with the ongoing training and mentoring of other building services staff.
The opportunity exists for the Senior Building Control Officer to work on a regular rostered basis between consent processing, inspections and responding to customer requests for service and information. It is an opportunity to become proficient in all of these areas.
