Porirua City Council is rejuvenating and expanding to prepare for its future growth and continue to develop a resilient, liveable city for future generations. One thing we know for sure, the Building Assurance team is directly impacted by our city's growth. We need to work differently to improve our processes and become more future-focused.

As our Building Assurance Officer you may be involved in a range of duties such as:

• Assessing building applications against the NZ Building Code, Building Act 2004 and the Building Regulations 1992
• Provide customer service to the public in relation to building related enquiries
• Investigating complaints and following through with appropriate action

You will learn from our experienced team and work across various types of building projects.

All about you

You'll need to show us that you:

• have a good understanding of the Building Legislation Framework
• hold a relevant Reg 18 qualification
• have high attention to detail and excellent general administration skills
• ability to describe in detail the performance and functional requirements of specific clauses of the New Zealand Building Code
• have a New Zealand driver's licence.
