He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The Building Consents department ensures there is a strong focus on customer-centric delivery and provides first-rate business services. We have several roles based in various locations within the Project Assessment team.
You will provide our customers with timely and accurate building and development related information as well as advice and consents. You will be responsible for ensuring building consent applications submitted are compliant with the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code before the consents are issued. Case management of customer's applications and assisting in increasing customer understanding of regulatory controls is a key attribute of this role. You will also be guiding and providing advice to customers on the appropriate application process as and when required.

Naturally, you pride yourself on providing your customers with a professional and high caliber service and you are hungry to grow and development your career in a new direction. We are looking for candidates who have the right attitude, all round knowledge and wanting to expand on their current experience. Ideally, you will possess a recognized Building Construction, Engineering or Architectural design qualification, have proven experience working in a building industry or architectural firms or similar related organizations where you need to meet targets within tight time frames, demonstrate the capability of understanding the building industry and processes, have the ability to problem solve and suggest business improvements, knowledge of Building Codes with previous experience in building consent processing, good understanding of the New Zealand Building Code and the Building Act 2004 and Building Regulations.
