Building Services Technical Lead - Processing 

  • Full-time permanent position 40 hours per week. 

  • Based in the vibrant town of Cambridge, this role offers flexible remote work while also require working from participating councils from time to time.

About the role | Mō te tūranga 

As the Technical Lead - Processing (TLP), you will have a hands-on role responsible for the statutory compliance of Co-Lab Building Services. The TLP will both process building consents and act as a technical advisor to Co-Lab Building Services processing employees, secondees and contractors. Beyond that you will: 

  • Ensure that consents are processed accurately, efficiently and within target timeframes. 

  • Provide Co-Lab Building Services’ customers excellent value and a positive experience.  

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex consent applications.  

  • Monitor and review work completed by Co- Lab Building Services employees, secondees and contractors, and provide constructive feedback.

Travel to participating councils will be required from time to time. 

About you | Mōu 

You will bring to the role a minimum qualification of building consent processing with C1 competency and be Regulation 18 qualified. Along with that, you will: 

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience providing technical support and guidance to building consent processing staff. 

  • Ability to be innovative, to question the status quo, solve problems creatively, and to adapt to changing circumstances. 

  • Have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with proven capability to work with a diverse range of people  

  • Have a clean full New Zealand driver’s license.  

Remuneration | Te Utu 

The remuneration range for this role is $100,370 - $122,675 per annum, with $111,523 representing fully competent in the role. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.

Co-Lab is equally owned by 12 councils across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. We collaborate with councils across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness as we:  

  • Act as an innovation hub for shared service opportunities. 

  • Facilitate joint procurement arrangements. 

  • Collaborate on shared services with councils.
