Building Consent Approvals is the first Accredited truly Independent nationwide Building Consent Authority for New Zealand. After working closely with MBIE our registration is imminent.

Our scope of Accreditation has been defined to ensure we can deliver low risk, cost effective and efficient residential consenting services to our clients, our scope of accreditation includes new residential buildings only.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Canterbury based Processing / Inspections Manager you will lead and mentor a team of building inspectors and processors to ensure compliance with the Building Act and Code. You will report directly to the Building Control Manager. Our client’s needs are our day-to-day focus, priority will be to develop a solution focused team who are committed to delivering outcomes to meet or exceed our client’s needs and ensuring compliance with legislation.

You will also:

  • Grow, collaborate and maintain relationships with our clients, key stakeholders and the wider industry and community.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies through innovative solutions
  • Clearly communicate and implement well-defined, aligned goals, values, and expectations

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal team member will:

  • Be an expert and highly respected dual Competent and Qualified Building Control Officer.
  • Possess expert knowledge of the Building Act 2004 and the NZ Building Code.
  • Possess strong customer focus and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships.
  • Have a proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret and apply legislation effectively.
  • Bring a proactive approach to process improvement and innovation, always seeking ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
