Solutions Team is an overflow resource supplier to many BCA’s throughout New Zealand. We process Building Consents, carry our Building Inspections and support Building Officials with Technical Auditing and Competency Assessments.

The Building Act and BCA Accreditation Regulations require Building Officers to be assessed annually.  For example - our technical team are assessed for technical competency in accordance with the National Competency Assessment  (NCAS) system. The demand on our technical resource to assess technical competency for our own technical staff as well as for many of our clients has grown significantly over the last 7 years and we are looking for a suitable person to join the team.

The preferred candidate will require technical competencies and experience in assessing applications or performing inspections preferably with a competency level of Residential 1 to Residential 3, and/or Commercial 1 to Commercial 3, or relevant experience in a similar role within the construction sector.

You will have:

• Have significant experience in building-related regulatory services (processing consent applications, inspecting buildings, or assessing code compliance certificates),
• Have a relevant professional or tertiary qualification and/or considerable experience in a building regulatory-related environment
• Be a skilled communicator with the ability to motivate staff through your coaching, mentoring, and training talents.
• Have good process orientation with an ability to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to promote continued business improvement.
• You will have Computer literacy skills which will be demonstrated through the production of reports, monitoring and reviewing of statistical information, and research of applications. 

It is preferable that you have been assessed for Appendix 2 under the National Competency Assessment Framework (NCAS).
