The Organisation

The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future.With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.

The Role/person

Our highly skilled Building Control team is looking for an experienced Building Compliance Officer to ensure building compliance at the highest level throughout the Timaru District!

Managing compliance to satisfy the requirements of the Building Act and TA obligations, you will work with our customers to ensure the legislation is achieved, maintained and monitored.

Most importantly we are after someone who is adaptable and quick off the mark, ready to learn and brings a great attitude to the team. Being a highly driven team, we want someone who genuinely wants to help our customers. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to meet statutory deadlines, organise workloads and determine priorities.
