We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Code Compliance Certificate Assessor to join our team at Whakatāne District Council.

Reporting to Team Leader Building, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our decision to issue code compliance certificates is made within statutory timeframes and legislative requirements.

This role requires someone who is highly organized, efficient and enjoys interacting with people and communities. At WDC, we are committed to our relationships and legislative responsibilities with Iwi, Hapū, and Whānau and are focused on continuing to strengthen these relationships within our district.

Ko wai koe | About you

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • A focus on solutions and continuous improvement of processes
  • The ability to drive and influence decisions through strong interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate will have experience in building control, building construction or design. Sound knowledge of the NZ Building Code, Building Act and Regulations would be an advantage.
