Whether you're an experienced building professional looking to transition into a compliance career, or an established Building Compliance Officer ready for a senior role, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

You'll help ensure buildings across the district continue to meet their compliance obligations, with a focus on Building Warrants of Fitness (BWOFs) and specified systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring IQP and specified system compliance
  • Investigating non-compliance and undertaking enforcement activities
  • Issuing notices and documentation under the Building Act
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting

As a Senior Building Compliance Officer, you'll also mentor other officers, lead more complex investigations and provide technical support across the team.

About You

  • Experience in building, construction, inspections, building control, compliance, or a related field is desirable; however, applicants with a basic understanding of the building compliance environment and a willingness to develop their technical knowledge are encouraged to apply.
  • A working knowledge of or interest in developing knowledge of the Building Act 2004, Building Code, compliance schedules, specified systems and BWOF processes.
  • Strong communication, judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and provide clear, practical advise.
  • The confidence to undertake compliance and enforcement activities, with support and training provided where needed.
  • For applicants with more experience, the ability to mentor others and provide technical leadership would be an advantage.

Why Join Us?
