Who We Are

Established in 2014, Solutions Team Ltd delivers expert building compliance services across New Zealand. We are committed to working collaboratively with our clients to achieve practical, risk-based regulatory compliance, always focusing on the best possible outcomes.

Drawing on decades of experience in the building and construction sector, along with strong local government and industry networks, we provide cost-effective, high-quality solutions tailored to a wide range of needs.

Our services include building consent processing and inspections, technical training, and professional and management support. We work with councils, government agencies, construction companies, and private clients alike, and have built a strong reputation for professionalism, reliability, and quality service.

About The Role

As we continue to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Regional Team Leader to join our team in the Tauranga/Western Bay region.

This is a leadership role where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact by leading our regional Processing and Inspections team, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality building compliance services across the region.

As the Regional Team Leader, you will provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight to ensure processing, inspections, and Quality Assurance System (QAS) activities are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in accordance with Solutions Team's Quality Assurance System Manual, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.

You will lead and inspire a capable team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement, as well as play a key role in developing technical capability within the team, supporting professional growth, and strengthening overall team performance.

A significant aspect of this position is the delivery of contracted services to Building Consent Approvals Ltd (BCAL), where you will act in both the Business Development Manager (BDM) and Client Liaison Manager (CLM) capacities. This includes building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

About You

Demonstrated leadership experience is essential, with the ability to guide, support, and develop high-performing teams within a busy, regulated environment.

A sharp eye for detail is complemented by a willingness to go the extra mile, along with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and consistently high-quality outcomes.

A minimum of five years’ experience within a New Zealand building-related organisation is required, supported by a solid understanding and practical application of building legislation. Strong working knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and associated approved documents across a range of residential projects is essential, with commercial experience considered advantageous.

Qualifications that meet BCA Regulation 18 requirements are essential, along with proven experience working within a Building Consent Authority or a similar regulatory environment in New Zealand.

Well-developed interpersonal skills are key, including strong communication and empathy, paired with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving. These capabilities support effective stakeholder engagement and confident navigation of complex and often time-sensitive situations.

Why Join Us?

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing organisation where your work genuinely makes a direct impact — not just on processes and KPIs, but on real outcomes and the people who rely on them.

If you’re looking for your next challenge and a chance to really step up (and not just “step sideways and call it growth”), this could be the role for you.

We offer above award salary packages and flexible working arrangements that actually support work-life balance — not just talk about it in the handbook. Whether you’re an early starter, a structured planner, or someone who performs best with a strong coffee and a bit of breathing room, we can make it work.

Our culture is built by our people — the ones who show up, support each other, solve problems together, and occasionally share questionable office snacks. It’s collaborative, supportive, and down-to-earth, with just the right amount of humour to get through busy days.

How to Apply

If this sounds like the right next step for you and you feel you meet the requirements of the role, we would really love to hear from you.
