As we are expanding, Co-Lab is seeking multiple motivated Building Consent Officer - Processing candidates to join our team in Cambridge, Waikato Region.

We have on-site, hybrid and remote working options available for the right candidates.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient and accurate processing of building consent applications, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting the development of our region. The role will involve:

  • Reviewing and processing building consent applications for completeness and accuracy.

  • Liaising with applicants, designers, and building practitioners to clarify information and address queries.

  • Ensuring all applications meet the requirements of the Building Act and relevant regulations.

  • Maintaining accurate records and databases of building consent applications.

  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assisting with the preparation of correspondence and documentation related to building consents.

  • Collaborating with other members of the building consent team to ensure efficient workflow.

What we need from you:

  • A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in administrative tasks and record-keeping.

  • Ability to interpret technical information and regulations.

  • A proactive and organised approach to work.

  • Familiarity with building consent processes or a willingness to learn.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a related field is advantageous.
