We're looking for a motivated Building Consent Processor to join our team and help deliver safe, compliant building outcomes across the Waipā District.

About the role

As a Building Consent Processor within our Building Assurance team, you will play a key part in supporting our compliance with the Building Act 2004 and related legislation, in line with council's policies and procedures.

In this role, you will be responsible for the processing and certification of building consent applications under the Building Act 2004. You will help ensure all proposed building work complies with the New Zealand Building Code, relevant legislation, and Council requirements.

  • You have gained, are studying, or are willing to work towards a Regulation 18 qualification (e.g. NZ Diploma in Architectural Technology or Construction, or a relevant building-related degree)
  • Practical or internship experience in building compliance, consent processing, or a related construction/technical role would be advantageous
  • An understanding of the Building Act 2004 and the New Zealand Building Code, or a willingness to develop this knowledge
  • A full, clean driver's licence.

We offer flexible working, professional development (including study support), and opportunities to grow your career, along with competitive local government benefits such as health & life insurance, retail discounts, subsidised fitness memberships, and additional leave over Christmas/New Year.
