Building Control Officer
This is a highly technical role primarily focusing on Building Consent Authority (BCA) functions. You will have the skills, knowledge, experience, and competency to know how to interpret the Building Act 2004 and understand how to apply the building code to ensure compliance.
A building control officer will be an expert in:
- understanding the built environment,
- interpreting and assessing building plans, specifications, and related documentation,
- interpreting and applying the requirements of the Building Act 2004, Building Code, and other relevant legislation,
- following and implementing policies, procedures, and systems,
- assessing situations holistically and or in isolation,
- approving and inspecting building consents

- be a great communicator both internally and externally, written, and oral
- work well under pressure and time constraints,
- have an excellent attention to detail
- have strong relationship management skills
