An independent qualified person (IQP) is a person or Building Warrant of Fitness service provider approved by Territorial Authorities to test, maintain and report on the specified systems that exist in the building as per the Compliance Schedule.
Examples of Building Surveyors who may work in private practice as IQPs are:
- Asbestos Assessors
- Environmental Consultants
- Fire Safety Systems
- Passive Fire Construction
- Lift Inspection
- Ventilation
- Smoke Control
