The Building Element Assessment Laboratory Limited, known as BEAL, is an independent building product assessment company based north of Wellington and operating throughout Australasia since 2004.

Focussing primarily on cladding, roofing, window and membrane systems for houses, BEAL prides itself on its standard of service and dedication to the needs of its clients.

Led by Principal Building Scientist Colin Prouse, who has specialised in the field for many years, the company has its own highly qualified team as well as access to independent experts from the building industry when the need arises. With the widespread reluctance of councils to accept new products without proof that they comply with the building code in either New Zealand or Australia, BEAL has access to laboratories in both countries to prove these products comply or otherwise.
