Capital gains tax abandoned

The Government, in response to the Tax Working Group recommendations in February, has abandoned plans to impose a capital gains tax. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the announcement today, saying that there was no mandate and no consensus was able to be reached with in the Government for a CGT.
