Year on year the Forum has been a proven successful format in providing future insights, innovation and planning opportunities and education for our sector.
This year's SBCO Forum technical programme, as promised take us back to Christchurch allowing a unique update on rebuild perspectives as well as focusing on a range of current issues and topics which will update, challenge and create awareness for all attendees.
Programme Overview:
- Christchurch City Update
Opening with an update from Crown Manager Dough Martin, followed by SCIRT General Manager Duncan Gibb and CERA Development Director - Anchor Projects as well as a guided CBD bus tour which will allow a visual perspective of the rebuild progress. - Electronic Processing of Consents
A case study approach looking at how Queenstown Lakes District Council has achieved their online consenting system on a shoe-string budget with comparisons to the National Online Project. - Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Boards
An update from PGD Board Chief Executive Max Pedersen, focusing on how we can achieve greater cooperation, authority work, supervision, generic contact address and consenting. - Updating NZSEE Guidelines
A progress report on Updating the NZSEE Guidelines: Assessing and Improving Existing Buildings. - Post Disaster Management of Buildings
An Update on New Field Guides and Arrangements and an interactive session on Post Disaster Management of Buildings - LBP Complaints
An overview from MBIE's Compliance and Enforcement Team Leader updating members on the new EBOLT system, integrated with a case study perspective from Auckland Council and how they deal with LBP complaints. - Industry Stakeholder Perspectives
Representation from NZIA and IPENZ giving valuable perspective on important stakeholder issues. - Legislative & Regulatory Overviews
Sessions covering the National Building Consent System progress, Consenting Pre-Built Solutions and a National Perspective regarding accreditation expectations from IANZ Chief Executive Dr Llewellyn Richards. - Technical & Compliance Session
Mix of Legal Cases relevant to Senior Building Control Officers, and HVAC Installations covering design maintenance of seismic restraints and systems.
