Topic: P21 Guidance Document Release
Martin formerly practised as a structural engineer in Lower Hutt for four years. He currently works as an Engineering Practice Manager at Engineering New Zealand. Martin works with engineering technical groups and regulators to help produce good practice guidance for the engineering community. A large part of Martin's role is communicating with regulators to find out where common problems are, to see how they can be helped, and ensure that good practice is the same throughout the country.
Martin said there are several resources BCAs could find interesting. They mostly sit on this page https://www.engineeringnz.org/engineer-tools/engineering-documents/guidelines/

AGM:
Wellington Chairperson’s Annual Report
The plan for the branch this year was to get branch meetings back on a regular schedule following 2021 which faced restrictions on face-to-face meetings and resulted in us having to postpone some meetings.
The Wellington Branch has had a total of four meetings this year, this meeting (1 December 2022) being the fourth. The highest attended meeting was in October which had 19 attendees.
The membership total of the branch this time last year was 96. The Wellington Branch now has 105 members and counting. The Wellington branch makes up 8% of the BOINZ total membership which is currently at 1294.
Two Wellington Branch members received awards at the BOINZ conference this year. Congratulations to Jessica Keltie who won the Emerging Leader Award and Wayne Goodfellow who won the Contribution to BOINZ Award.
This year was the first full year for the new branch executive. A huge thanks to:
Inka Gliesche-Humphris
Rosie Chote
Wayne Goodfellow

Jeremy Strongman
We would like to thank everyone who has attended our meetings throughout the year and hope to see you at future meetings in 2023.
General business/matters arising:
Jessica informed the Branch the conference registrations have now opened, and read through the annual report as part of the AGM
End of Meeting at 4.00pm.
