End of AGMPresentation/BOINZ Update by Nick Hill
2022 is planned to be the ‘Year of Engagement’. Nick planned to give this presentation in person, but due to COVID restrictions could not be there.
Nick introduces the Board of Directors. Nick explains director Karel Boakes has allowed more diversity being the only female director on the board.
Nick points out BOINZ increase in social media interaction. Nick mentions the quantities of membership benefits, we tend to oscillate between too many and not enough.
Nick touches on BOINZ COVID policy. To reduce member’s exposure to COVID-19 BOINZ made the decision to make proof of vaccination mandatory to attend BOINZ events.
Nick talks about the BOINZ BOOST app. BOINZ have now made BOOST + available to all members at no additional cost.
BOINZ Membership cards will now be orange. Members who have a 10, 15, or 20-year tenure with BOINZ will receive a bronze, silver, and gold card.
BOINZ is now getting a new look website in the coming months.
BOINZ Training courses will be held in person and online in 2022. There has been an expansion in training subjects for 2022.
Nick has discussed BOINZ advocacy in 2021/2022.
BOINZ constitution will be revised in 2022. The changes BOINZ is looking to make is moving board elections to a tri-annual process. This means we lose two members a year, this is to reduce having a brand-new board every two years. BOINZ wants to include a trading name in the constitution.
Jacqui Neilson has made a lot of changes since she started in 2021. She mentions entry to BCO package may be coming in March 2022. In house training is something Jacqui will happily offer and has found council has responded well to in house training.
