Welcome
Chairperson Jessica Keltie welcomes all those in attendance and introduces herself.

Minutes and Matters Arising

Board Representative Update
Vice President Karel Boakes gives the Board Representative update as the secondary board representative for the Wellington Branch.
The board update included:
- CPD audit reminder.
- BOINZ consultations. BOINZ has been making submissions on the Building Code update which closed on the 1st of July. It includes Hollow Core Floors, Plumbing and Drainage and Protection from Fire. The other submissions BOINZ made was for CodeMark changes and feedback on the current structure of the New Zealand Diploma in Building Surveying (Lvl 6) and proposals for a bachelor's degree in Building Surveying and Building Control. Members are always welcome to provide feedback to BOINZ regarding submissions.
- Combined SBCO Forum and Conference 2022. The theme for SBCO is “Surveying the Future” and the theme of conference will be “Building the Future”
- The BOINZ Training Academy calendar is updated on the BOINZ website and is out to November 2022. Entry to BCA part one has been launched and the pilot for Part Two will run from 22nd of August to 11 November 2022. BOINZ also introduced an online training academy which includes 6 courses.
- The winter edition of straight up is due to be released soon. If you have any content, you would like share please email marketing@boinz.org.nz
- BOINZ TV recently released a new series on Geotechnical/Liquefaction. The three episodes were well received by our members.
- BOINZ website has undergone a refresh. Please give feedback regarding the website to marketing@boinz.org.nz
Guest Presentation: Concrete NZ
Jessica welcomes Technical Director of Concrete NZ, Dave McGuigan to present on the “What is happening now and in the future of concrete and Concrete NZ.”
