Previous Minutes:

The Minutes of the previous meeting on the 20th of March was circulated via the BOINZ website. These were accepted as a true and accurate record.

Board Report:

Kerry Walsh: There was no board representative report, due to time constraints around needing to get to the Town Hall Site by 4.30pm

General Business:

Presentation on the Town Hall:

Jennifer gave a brief presentation on the Town Hall with photos from its time under construction, pre and post-earthquake, and a summary of the remediation and strengthening works.

Members then walked from the Council building to the Town Hall, where we were met by the Project Director for the Christchurch Town Hall, Patrick Cantillon. After a brief introduction and safety talk members entered the building via the west side changing areas and into the main auditorium. The main auditorium is almost complete; however, the scale of the work is yet to be undertaken. This became apparent as members moved through the foyer and into the Limes Room area. The foyers stalactite like ceiling has been re-instated and the Limes Room re-levelled. embers shared memories of great nights and important events in the Town Hall at the networking venue in the Bog on Victoria Street, where we were treated to fried platters, courtesy of Christchurch City Council.

Next Branch Meeting will take place on the 19th June at Selwyn District Council
