Board Report: Presented by Kerry Walsh. A copy of the report is attached.
General Business:
John acknowledged members of the latest group from Christchurch City Council who had passed the National Diploma in Building Control Surveying (Small Buildings).
Members were advised that Gary Nicol was still at the Laura Ferguson Trust unit undergoing rehabilitation and progressing well.
Guest Presentation
Geoff Ball, Managing Director of Hagley Windows and Doors provided a brief outline of the history of the company, its achievements to date, future projects and how the company was making a conscious effort to recycle and work sustainably. Geoff and three staff members acted as guides for our tour through their new state of the art factory, which was operating out of normal hours for our group to experience the process of double-glazing joinery units being made.
Next Branch Training and Networking Event: Scheduled for the weekend of 7/8 October 2017 to be held at Grey District Council. More details to follow.
Special thank you to: Hagley Windows and Doors for providing the venue and refreshments for networking after the tour.
John Blanken closed the meeting at 4.58pm with the tour taking place after this.
