Chairperson’s Annual Report:
Welcome to the 2022 BONZ Southern Branch AGM.
Well, 2022 has certainly been another unpredictable year due to Covid 19 outbreaks affecting what we can do as well as trying to attract and keep staff for a number of BCA’s.
We’ve managed to hold two face to face meeting in Dunedin which were well attended.
We have managed to have very good presentations at both our last meeting and this meeting and a big thanks to the presenters for time, knowledge and support. Especially those that have travelled a fair distance to come to us.
A big thank you once again to Vicki for all her hard work in the background with organising meetings and keeping me on track, not an easy task. Also thanks to Jayson Ellis at Timaru District Council for releasing Vicki to do the secretary role.
Again thanks to Neil McLeod from Dunedin City Council for arranging meeting venues for us at Dunedin City Council.
As with previous years we have again struggles to get members to support Vicki & I by submitting topics for discussion in our general business part of our meetings. Please if you’ve got something to discuss send us an email or give us a ring.
We also need members support with suggestions on topics for training so we can find guest speakers and can build in a training component into our meetings.
As we’ve said before this will help us in being able to get your Managers to release members to attend meetings it they can see a benefit to their staff and organisation.
Christmas is just around the corner so I hope everybody has a safe and Merry Christmas and New Year and can unwind, de-stress and we look forward to seeing you all face to face in the New Year.
