Board Representative Update:
BOINZ Board Member Cory Lang provided the Board update.
Building Code Issues:
Barry Nikolaison queried how fast Multi-Use consents will take to be updated to demonstrate compliance with new Building Code requirements for H1-Energy Efficiency, assuming MBIE are aware of the issue and intend to update documentation and queried if MBIE were aware of the issues that this was currently creating in the industry.
Guest Presentations:
Carmel Francis
Presented on Futurebuild LVL and gave a demonstration of DesignIT and noting that the site app, DesignIT Onsite is available from the App Store for Apple and Google Play for Android, to provide additional support on site.
Nick Hill
Presented on the proposed new Constitution identifying the key changes and reasons for them. The draft Constitution was circulated, and Nick requested any feedback by email to Vivian Menard at ea@boinz.org.nz. Feedback from the membership is encouraged.
Chris Ross
Presented via Teams on Volclay Voltex and Volclay Swelltite to identify the benefits of the Bentonite products which provide active waterproofing. The products are applicator only products and applicators are trained and approved by Allco to ensure control of the process.
