Minutes of Waikato/Bay of Plenty Branch Networking and Training Event

Welcome:
Luke Hampton welcomes all attendees. Luke addresses ‘housekeeping’ rules. If there is anything you need to raise, please use the chat function. Luke also requested members in attendance confirm their attendance in the chat.
Update to all members in regard to the Waikato/BOP branch executive. Luke confirmed Dave Thompson resigned his chairmanship on the 24th of January 2022, the role has since been vacant. Helen Moke was nominated by the executive to become chairperson. Helen’s nomination was seconded by Ian Chamberlain.
Luke wished to ratify Helen’s appointment by introducing a motion to Chairperson. Luke requests the branch puts forward a nomination for Helen’s appointment to the chairperson. Christine Watkinson proposes the motion, the motion is seconded by Owen Smith.
Helen introduces herself as chairperson. Helen has a background in planning and is trained as a Building Officer. Helen would like feedback on when members would like their meetings to start.
Helen thanked Dave Thompson for the years he has been on the executive. Helen presented Dave with a certificate of recognition which was sent to him by BOINZ national office.

Minutes from the previous AGM were not attached to the agenda but were available to view on MY BOINZ.

Luke confirms there is no correspondence from the national office.
General Business:
Helen discussed TEAMS versus Zoom meeting format. Helen welcomes members to email her with their suggestions for future training events.
