Nick Hill BOINZ Chief Executive wishes all members a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Enjoy the break and is looking forward to seeing you next year.

Chairperson's Annual Report:

Outline of Years Programme

As with last year we are still struggling to get BCO's to attend branch meetings. It is not clear if this is because they are not interested in BOINZ, are too busy or cannot get released to attend meetings.

We are still struggling to get ideas from members on topics to arrange guest speakers for meetings so that there is a training element to the meetings, so managers can see the worth in releasing staff to attend.

Moving the meetings around so that we have Southern, Northern and two Central seems to have worked as Mangers have been able to release staff to attend local events making easier than meetings some distance away. This has resulted in higher attendance numbers at some meetings.

Meetings were held in:

15th March 2019, Gore - Mataura Site Visit

19th July 2019, Dunedin - Nick Hill BOINZ CE

13th September 2019, Waimate - Oceania Dairy Factory Site Visit

22nd November 2019, Dunedin - Andrew Bellamy Wood Solutions Presentation

All meetings have had either guest speakers or site visits included.

Thank you to the BCA's and BCA staff that have assisted with venues, site visits and catering.

Thanks to both Monica and Vicki from Timaru BCA for taking up the role of Branch Secretary when no one else would.

Thanks also, to Jayson Ellis the Timaru BCA Manager for allowing these staff members to take up this position as there is a quite bit of time involved, and I know this is a juggling match when everybody is getting busier.

The speakers and site visits that have been arranged have mostly come from discussions between Secretary and myself due to lack of input from members.

We need your support and ideas for site visits or guest spacers that you think would be of benefit to members. We don't want to end up in the situation where members don't come to meetings because they don't lie the sound of a speaker.

I will continue pushing other Managers through the SBCG to release staff to attend Branch Meetings.

Finally, I hope you're all getting ready for Christmas, I know this year has been a pretty full on year for us, as well as most if not all other BCA's.

Have a god holiday break and I look forward to catching up with you all in the New Year.

Stu Chapman
