Previous Minutes:

Minutes of the previous meeting were circulated via the BOINZ website. These were accepted as a true and correct record.

Board Report:

Kerry Walsh: Board liaison for Canterbury/Westland Branch sent his apologies there is no Board report today.

General Business:

• Terry Sparks commented that it wasn't very clear on the BOINZ website to see how many CPD points were allocated to activities.

• Members stated that the membership cards have still not been issued.

• Jennifer Clarke advised that the BOINZ App can be used for discounts at shops in lieu of the card.

• The calendar dates for the meetings for 2019 are set and will be updated on the BOINZ website soon.

• The 2019 52nd Annual Conference & Expo will be held at the Rotorua Energy Events, 19-22 May, registrations are open.

Joe Johnson - Business Development Manager of PGG Wrighton Turf

Joe presented an educational workshop for revegetation, erosion and dust control as well as soil stabilisation.

The program included

• An introduction of PGG Wrightson Turf, DuraVeg, profile Products and GRT

• A quick Q & A on issues in revegetation, erosion and dust

• Soil stabilisation and dust control

• The fundamentals of successful revegetation

During the meeting, Joe took us on a tour of the grass management areas and explained the different types of grasses that they were cultivating for different uses. We later had a hands-on experiment with hydromulch.
