Aldo Fehr:
IQPs are noticing issues in regard to 12A forms and not being able to issue them due to not carrying out the inspections over the full 12-month period because another company was employed for some of the period within the 12-month timeframe.
Richard Wyn:
The new rental property requirements the Government is seeking to implement is having an early impact in respect of landlords with an increase of rentals coming on the market.
Murry Kidd:
Fire and Emergency New Zealand are having issues with fire alarm contractor's documentation and plans. The Fire Service needs to notify councils in respect of fire damaged houses and the subsequent rebuilding without consents etc.
Guest Presentation:
Tony from ITM frames and Trusses
Discussed the new Mitek top plate to stud screw fixing and how they now offer the service at the pre-nail factory. He then displayed how the frames would be marked at the factory so that BCO's on site can easily identify them when carrying out their wall and roof framing inspection.
Daniel Marshall from Thermakraft
The presentation included an overview of the latest products of roof and wall wraps. Daniel highlighted Thermakraft's One wrap System, noting their features, which have been BRANZ appraised. He then discussed the special requirements that Ministry of Education have for underlays.
Bryan Clark closed the meeting at 1.45pm and thanked the presenters for their informative presentations, and the time to educate attending members of on their products and industry issues.
