General Business:
Q: How do BCA’s confirm the installation of downlights? Do they check if transformers/drivers have been covered with insulation and clearance to timbers? Do they solely rely on the electrical certificate?
A: All BCA’s attending made physical checks where possible, along with Electrical Certificates.
Guest Presentation:
Steve Coll - Southern Regional Manager for MiTek NZ Ltd based in Christchurch, completed a presentation on the new Stud Lok System – new screw fixing system with colour coded heads pertaining to the length of the screw required for varying thickness of top plates. He also mentioned other type of fixing designs he is currently working on. Healthy discussions from the floor on the general updates from MiTek and the new system.
Next Branch Training and Networking Event: scheduled 1 August at Selwyn District Council
