MINUTES OF EAST COAST BRANCH AGM

held on 22th November 2016 at 3.00pm, at Bareknuckle BBQ, 1091 Rivers lea Road South, Hastings

Welcome:

Branch Chair Michael Skelton opened the meeting and welcomed members and guests.

Previous AGM Minutes:

Minutes of the previous Branch meeting held on 24 November 2015 and circulated by National Office. Copies of the minutes were handed out to all members present.

There were no matters arising from previous AGM minutes

No correspondence received or sent

General Business:

No General Business was discussed.

Chairperson’s Annual Report:

Chairman's report was handed out to members present then tabled by the Chairman. No comments to the Chairman's report were received.

EAST COAST BRANCH Election of Branch Executive Positions for 2015/2016 TERM:

As the elected chairman and secretary are on the secondary of the two year cycle no election is required and confirmed as:

Branch Chair: Michael Skelton, Hastings District Council

Branch Secretary: Paul Simmonds, Hastings District Council

The Chair declared the AGM for 2016 closed.

Guest Presentation

Following the AGM Nick Hill CEO BOINZ presented a National Office Update providing a "WHOT", Challenges Ahead, and BOINZ Response.

Highlight's from Nicks presentation were:

• Auckland's population growth is twice that of the rest of NZ

• 14000 extra house needed each year to keep up with population growth

• 30-40,000 (+) new build res consents new norm

• Insufficient project management/oversight by firms

• BOINZ Response Strategically long term focused & investing in our future

and summing up:

We're resilient

We're recognized

We deliver

We'll be here next year and in 50 years

Michael Skelton thanked Nick on behalf of the East Coast Branch for his enlightening presentation and for BOINZ HO providing the Xmas cheer and food.
