Now is the time to make the move to Hastings District Council, the Hawkes Bay region is experiencing steady growth which means our team is kept super busy. We are seeking applications for a permanent full-time Building Officer to join our diverse and dedicated team in the Planning and Regulatory Services Group.

This role involves processing building consent applications and completing building inspections during the course of construction.  

Ou wheako –about you,

To be successful in this role you:

• Must have an appropriate qualification in building or design, or a related field that will be recognised by Regulation 18 of the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006. Technical competency under the national competency assessment criteria for Building Officers
• Undertaken training and practical industry experience in construction, building design, building surveying or inspection
• Ability to undertake building inspections and/or process building consent applications to ensure compliance with the New Zealand building code
• Well-developed written and oral communication  skills, including advanced computer skills.
