About the Role

Based in Mangawhai, we have an exciting opportunity for a Building Control Officer to join our team. This role involves processing and inspection of building work in Kaipara. Reporting to the Building Control Team Leader, on a daily basis you will be:

  • Processing building consent applications to ensure they meet the requirements of the Building Act
  • Undertaking inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Issuing Code of Compliance and other certificates
  • Responding to written and telephone customer enquiries
  • Resolving conflict between parties on building matters

About You

You are an enthusiastic and passionate person with:

  • Inspection and/or processing experience in a Building Consent Authority
  • A qualification that meets Building Regulation 2006 section 18
  • Five or more years' experience in the construction industry
  • Good computer skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development
