We have an opportunity to work with one of the best Building Control Unit’s in the country. We have had success after success driven by a culture of high performance.

We are looking for someone unique who specialises in detecting illegal, dangerous, and insanitary building work and can obtain compliance through appropriate action and a positive customer-focussed approach. Join a tight knit team who also covers compliance for building warrants of fitness and swimming pool fencing.

It is a fast-paced role where every day is different. You would be working with outstanding Regulatory leaders in one of the most beautiful places in the country. Whether you are starting out on your compliance journey or an experienced hand, we want to help you achieve your goals.

Ideally you will:

  • Have previous experience in a compliance role, investigation or on the tools experience in the construction trade.
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to develop innovative solutions that work for all involved will be vital. 
  • Attention to detail is key and you will be a self-starter who can prioritise and operate under pressure. 
  • A great sense of humour will have you fit right in with the team
  • Computer literacy, including keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to build sound relationships and give advice and make decisions
  • An understanding of current NZ Building Code legislation would be helpful

This is a permanent, full-time role based in our Thames, Whitianga or Whangamata Office but comes with flexible and remote working options.
