The Role

QLDC have an opportunity within our high-performing Building Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for entering and issuing building consents and all administration tasks in relation to the requirements of the Building Act 2004 and Building Control Authority, including dealing with initial public enquiries and booking building consent inspections.

About You

This fast paced role requires a candidate with initiative and a passion for getting great results. The successful candidate will understand what it takes to deliver excellent internal and external customer service, have a solid administrative background and have proven experience working in a large, busy team environment. In addition to this experience you will have:

  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills with an excellent eye for detail with the ability to effectively multitask
  • The ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect
  • Ability to relate to, and effectively communicate appropriately with people at all levels within the local business community and Council
