The Stratford District Council is seeking a Building Control Officer - Processing and Inspections to undertake all aspects of processing building consent applications, inspecting building work for compliance and other Building Act responsibilities.
This is a permanent full-time position and includes:
The successful applicant will ideally have a sound knowledge of the Building Act and NZ Building Code and will either hold, be studying towards, or be willing to obtain a recognised Regulation 18 qualification. They will be confident with computer work and enjoy dealing with people and being out in the field. Previous experience within local government or a building consent authority would be an advantage but is not essential.
The position has an annual salary of $92,000 for a candidate who meets all of the competencies required. Candidates working towards these competencies can still apply and work towards 100% over time.
