This is a fabulous opportunity to join a performance and values-based organisation that invests in the development of its people.
We provide a great working environment where you can contribute to the future prosperity of the Tasman Region which offers outstanding lifestyle options, easy access to sporting and leisure pursuits, stunning beaches and a rich food, wine and arts culture.

Are you someone who wants to become an integral part of our Building Assurance team? As a Building Technical Officer you will be responsible for the procedural review and technical processing of building consent applications, ensuring Council complies with the Building Code so our communities' buildings are safe, healthy and durable.

We are a collaborative and supportive team who last year were recognised as the leading BCA in NZ for the collective outcome of the first year's Regulation 18 Diploma - Building Surveying.

You will have the opportunity to work across Council with planners, engineers and natural hazards staff, gaining an extensive technical understanding of the built environment. You will also work proactively with customers to answer a broad range of building enquiries. You will ideally possess a sound working knowledge of relevant building statutes, regulations and standards, or perhaps you are a recent graduate with a building related qualification and limited experience, but can demonstrate your passion for this career path with a strong motivation to succeed.

Whether an experienced Building Technical Officer or graduate, you will be someone who is committed to quality customer service, a team player who can confidently communicate with people from all walks of life. These attributes will be complemented by a high degree of digital literacy and attention to detail. If this sounds like a career opportunity not to be missed then apply now!
