Are you someone who wants to become an integral part of our Building Assurance team? As a Building Technical Officer you will be responsible for the procedural review and technical processing of building consent applications, ensuring Council complies with the Building Code so our communities' buildings are safe, healthy and durable. We are a collaborative and supportive team who last year were recognised as the leading BCA in NZ for the collective outcome of the first year's Regulation 18 Diploma - Building Surveying.
You will have the opportunity to work across Council with planners, engineers and natural hazards staff, gaining an extensive technical understanding of the built environment. You will also work proactively with customers to answer a broad range of building enquiries. You will ideally possess a sound working knowledge of relevant building statutes, regulations and standards, or perhaps you are a recent graduate with a building related qualification and limited experience, but can demonstrate your passion for this career path with a strong motivation to succeed.
