We are looking for building industry professionals with various levels of experience, from senior to graduate levels, who are ready to take this unique chance to be in a city going through a transformation, working with the team that is helping to facilitate this recovery.
Working within our Building Consents Unit, you will facilitate high quality consent outcomes, undertaking processing and inspections, within agreed timeframes. You will be working with the applicant and across the Council team to ensure effective and timely technical expertise and guidance is provided in support of building consent applications.
You could be a recent graduate or your background might be in building construction, building design, consent processing and/or inspections - whatever your expertise, you'll be a team player with experience in building and maintaining successful relationships with clients, their agents and internal teams. You'll be confident dealing with issues and making pragmatic decisions in line with Building Act and Building Code requirements. You'll also have familiarity with industry best practise e.g. building standards and techniques for a variety of residential buildings.
