Team Leader - Building Compliance

This specialist senior position will make a valuable contribution to our progressive Building Consent Authority full of great people, producing great results.

This is a premium opportunity for an experienced individual to shape and develop a new building compliance team. You'll be someone who has proven leadership skills and a passion for motivating and mentoring others while also being a skilled communicator, able to present information relating to enforcement decisions and actions to management, Council and the public when required. A solid background interpreting and applying legal opinion on statutes and legislation, while offering sound defensible technical advice on issues of non-compliance under the building Act will be valued by the wider Building Assurance team.

You'll bring with you a tertiary qualification in Building Control Surveying or other recognised building qualification and a minimum of five years' experience in a resource management or regulatory compliance and enforcement role. Our perfect candidate will display credibility, professionalism and approachability under sometimes trying and challenging conditions, as well as a drive to deliver positive outcomes for customers and for Council.
