Building Assurance Officer (BWoF)/Kaiārahi Whakaū Hanga Whare

Porirua's changing. Thanks to new housing developments, large scale regeneration projects and new transport links, it's rapidly growing into a diverse, well-connected city with big opportunities.

Porirua City Council is rejuvenating and expanding to prepare for its future growth and continue to develop a resilient, liveable city for future generations. One thing we know for sure, the Building Assurance team is directly impacted by our city's growth. We need to work differently to improve our processes and become more future-focused.

As our Building Assurance Officer (BWoF) you may be involved in a range of duties such as:

• overseeing our part in the building warrant of fitness (BWoF) system
• assessing building warrant of fitness documentation and compliance schedule amendment requests
• attending site audits and addressing non-compliance with building owners and their agents
• supporting building consent vetting, processing and certification functions in relation to compliance schedule requirements.

This is currently a 1-year fixed-term position, working with a positive, supportive team with a focus on improving the service we deliver.

All about you

You'll need to show us that you:

• have a good understanding of various specified systems, their performance standards and inspection, maintenance and reporting requirements
• have knowledge and experience in the building warrant of fitness system
• have high attention to detail and excellent general administration skills
• have a New Zealand driver's licence.
