Advanced Building Officer - MDC

If you have a passion for the building control industry and enjoy working within the community to ensure that Council delivers on its Building Act responsibilities while providing excellent customer service then this could be the role for you.

As an Advanced Building Officer, you will use your sound knowledge of the Building Act and associated regulations to provide advice and support to customers and junior team members. You will be part of our combined Palmerston North and Manawatu Council Building Team who work together to ensure the built environment meets the needs of our community. You’ll take personal satisfaction from delivering a timely and professional service to clients and take pride in the quality of your work.

To be successful in this role you will be highly motivated and have substantial experience in building controls. Previous experience within a Territorial Authority or Building Consent Authority is a distinct advantage. You will also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritise, manage timeframes, and work under pressure.
