We are seeking an experienced, resilient and positive individual to lead our Building Services team on a permanent full-time basis!

Reporting to the Manager - Planning and Building Services, this position will oversee the day-to-day functions of the Building Control Authority ensuring processes and procedures are developed, maintained and monitored to meet statutory obligations and maintain accreditation.

With exceptional interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills you will thrive in our organisation leading the dedicated Building Services team which consists of seven direct reports. You will also champion a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the provision of the best possible service consistent with a customer first service ethic.

You will have a minimum of three years' experience in a Building Control Authority and hold a tertiary qualification in building control or a related field. Experience in leadership/supervision with knowledge and an understanding of the Local Government Act 2002, the Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building code and any other relevant legislation is essential.
