We are looking for someone to help us make South Taranaki the most liveable district. For the planning and development unit this means finding someone who wants to help the community have a diversity of living and employment options, whilst protecting the natural and cultural values that surround us.
South Taranaki is seeing an increase in the construction sector, and an increase in land subdivision that will lead to further increases in construction, in particular houses. We also have a district plan that has recently become fully operative, but already needs someone to step up and play a lead role in rezoning proposals to formalise the growth that's already happening in strategic areas.

This position has been created as a result of a recent reorganisation and will report directly to the Planning & Development Manager, another newly created role.

This position is a working Team Leader role and is an opportunity for an experienced individual with sound planning knowledge and excellent customer service skills to make this job their own. The successful person will be required to lead and mentor a small team, process the more complex consents and assist the Planning & Development Manager in the integration of decision-making across the planning, building and development engineering functions.
