Our region is experiencing high growth which offers an array of opportunities for motivated and experienced building control professionals. 

While providing a high level of customer service, you will have achieved R2 and C2 competency and be able to undertake building consent functions to support the team. 

The role involves responsibility for advising and assisting clients on building consent matters. 

ABOUT YOU: 

To be considered for this role you will:

Demonstrate experience in a wide range of building control functions; including processing building consent applications and undertaking inspections out in the field. 

Possess a good level of current technical building knowledge and current competency assessment, up to R2 and C2. 

Have a strong knowledge of the NZ Building Act 2004, Building Code, BCA Accreditation Regulations and other relevant legislation. 

Be a good communicator who can build and maintain relationships. You’ll use your knowledge and experience to engage with customers and provide consistent and high level technical advice. Your ability to make sound decisions and your working knowledge of the Building Act and NZ Building Code will be crucial in this role. 

Be working towards or already have a complying qualification for building control surveying under BCA Accreditation Regulation 18.  Applicants that do not hold an appropriate qualification may be considered for this position on the basis that you will be prepared to enroll in a programme of study for an appropriate diploma level qualification.
