The Building Consenting Unit plays a pivotal role in the Christchurch community through its range of activities and responsibilities; most notably by ensuring compliance with the New Zealand Building Act. We support our customers to make sure the vision for their future building project comes to life, from conception right through to completion.
As the Residential Inspections Team Leader, you will be responsible for a team of technical building officials who undertake building inspections services in our community. You will have an understanding of residential building matters and be able to provide sound advice to your team and key stakeholders. As a member of our leadership team, you will initiate and implement changes within the building control function to ensure we are delivering exceptional customer service and effective end-to-end processes for not only our customers but for our team of great building officials.
To be successful in this role, you will have the relevant technical qualifications, experience in the building industry, and sound technical knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code, New Zealand Building Act 2004, and Local Government Legislation. It is essential that you have the ability to develop and lead a high-performing team, deliver clear objectives for direct and indirect reports, and motivate and empower them in order to achieve group and organisational goals.
