Tauranga is still in growth mode and building a city takes a great team. Excellent opportunities are currently available working within the Building Services division at Tauranga City Council where we are responsible for ensuring buildings are safe for the people living and working in Tauranga.

We are recruiting for Building Control Officers - Processing. This position is responsible for providing professional high-quality compliance assessment of building designs for a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

We welcome enquiries from people who work or may have worked within the construction/design industry or a Building Consent Authority (BCA) environment, where they may have specific processing experience. What is required is; knowledge of legislation relating to the building industry, and the ability to interpret relevant Building Acts, Codes, Regulations and Acceptance Solutions.

Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006 requires that a BCA Building Consent Processing Officer has an appropriate Reg 18 qualification or to be working towards one, within a reasonable time.
